When I have asked how can someone not understand the clarity of the Bible and yet believe someone like Todd Bentley, this was my husband’s response.

1 Cor 2:14-15
14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. NIV

The person who does not have the Spirit of God living within them will never accept the Bible.

The only way anyone can understand anything in the Bible is if it is revealed to him or her by the Holy Spirit.

1 Cor 2:15
The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment: NIV

The Holy Spirit living within us enables us to make judgments about all things.

The Holy Spirit also enables us to shrug off the judgments of other people who do not have the Holy Spirit.
