At 21 weeks of pregnancy Stellan’s life becomes a serious matter of prayer.
They also know that MCK Muffin has Supraventricular-Tachycardia.
It is very, very sad to acknowledge that MckMuffin is now in heart failure.
MckMuffin has almost complete heart block. And mild bradycardia. These two together are nearly always fatal in an unborn baby.
The perinatologist said “I don’t think your baby is going to make it. He is in heart failure and it’s way too soon to take him out and give him a pacemaker. He would need to make it to 32 weeks and there is a 95% chance he will make it no where close to that point. I am so, so sorry to tell you this, but your sweet, sweet baby will probably be still born. I am so sorry.”
“We can’t find anything wrong with his heart at all!” After a barrage of tests, Stellan’s heart has proved to look like nothing but a perfectly healthy newborn heart. “I would never have known anything was wrong with him!” The head NICU nurse who attended Stellan’s delivery couldn’t stop talking about how glad she was to have come to a birth where she ended up not being needed!!!
