What Are You Doing With What You’ve Been Given?

Ever complain about having enough time or energy to do all that the Lord would have you do?

Do you think you just don’t have any reason to encourage others because your life is so difficult?

Are you grumbling or giving thanks?

Num 14:27 “How long shall this wicked congregation grumble against me?” ESV

Ps 105:1 Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! ESV

After watching this video see if you can still complain!

About Nick Vujicic

It says in James 1:2, “Consider it pure joy, my Brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds.

It seemed like a tall order to “count” hurt, pain and struggle as nothing but “pure joy” when my birth date arrived. My parents were Christians; my Dad was even a Pastor of our church, so that verse was quite familiar to them. However, on the morning of December 4th , 1982, in Melbourne, Australia, the last two words on the minds of my parents was “Praise God!”. Their firstborn son had been born without limbs! There were no warnings or time to prepare themselves for it. Having no answers at all, the doctors were completely shocked and taken off guard!

The whole church mourned over my birth and my parents were absolutely devastated. “If God is a God of love,”  they questioned, “Then why would He let something like this happen, and especially to committed Christians?” My Dad did not think I would survive for very long. But, tests proved that I was a healthy baby boy with just one hitch, I’d been born without any limbs.

    Paula,

I have several video testimonies on the website but my testimony is just the one written out by me.

I cannot tell you when I became a new creation but I can honestly say that God has made me a new creation and He has done so throughout all my life. All people do not have Damascus Road experiences. We cannot expect everyone to do so. Some like David just grow more and more in a saving faith through the Lord. I grew into a saving faith from my childhood until now and I continue to grow. I have been baptised and I have the Holy Spirit living in me as evidence (the seal) of my salvation. I would be unable to exhibit the fruits of the Spirit (even though still imperfectly) without the work of the Holy Spirit in my life. The re-baptising in Acts 19:1-7 was rebaptising due to a lack of the Holy Spirit and having been baptized into John’s baptism not Jesus’s. So no I have not been convicted of a need to be rebaptised. Otherwise at what point does one consider themselves worthy of baptism having a full and complete understanding of Salvation? There is no evidence the disciples were rebaptised even though they had no real understanding of salvation until after the Lord arose.

My family does share the gospel in a multitude of ways at home, at work, and out and about. We also help support pastors, missionaries and orphans.

We need to not risk judging how the Lord will lead a particular individual to exhibit their Salvation. While obedience to the Scriptures is necessary that does not mean that everyone’s life will be lived the same way. Nor does it mean that everyone will be called to stand on the street corners to preach. The video of the young lady basketball player was done when she was a college student not a professional basketball player. The video of the young man wasn’t his testimony but was provided to show that you can still be a productive person even with severe limitations such as no limbs. Rejoice that he can be so encouraging despite his circumstances without criticizing his testimony or lack thereof. However, if you were to go to his website you would see the gospel and a salvation message throughout. Does he believe perfectly? By no means! But neither do I. Nor do you. We must be careful to not let a judgemental attitude be a stumbling block to others salvation. We can be an offense to the gospel by our attitudes and actions.

Paul spent time making tents. Jesus partyed with unbelievers and sinners, such that He was accused of being a drunkard and glutton. While we know Jesus was neither, we can see that He did do things that some self-righteous religious people called “worldly”.

Really all you need to learn more about God and Jesus is a good Bible. I suggest an ESV due to the ease of reading and the more modern language. Design a program of reading daily and seriously studying the Bible, book by book and verse by verse. It is dangerous to focus on Bible Study materials and Bible ‘study’ programs because all can have flaws. As you become better at discerning the truth from the dross and baggage you’ve accumulated, then you can add in some sound Biblical Commentaries and Sermons. But always go back and check everything according to Scripture. Be Berean Acts 17:11.
