Terry,

I don't know why we have people returning to the exact same false teachings that so much of the NT was written to warn against. But then there is nothing new under the sun (Eccl. 1:9). We can find the same false teachings from the Bible in society today. Why is that? My guess is that Satan is the root cause of propagating false teaching and he is still using the same lies he always has used. Also it seems that false teaching is to increase upon the earth until the Lord intervenes.

I'm glad you are enjoying this. I have learned much (more than I've shared so far), but this is a hard study, particularly because it is so serious.

For reasons I'm sure are obvious to you by now, I am thoroughly enjoying this series of posts.

While I agree with you wholeheartely, a question nags at me constantly in recent days:

While the confusion in the early church is fully understandable, how is it possible that, given the Word in its entirety before us here, in 2010, for anyone who prayerfully reads the word to get caught up in trying to secure salvation by following the law?

Of course I don't expect you to have an answer to this question. Just one that I can't seem to shake.
