This Comment Makes Me Sad In So Many Ways

Comment on The Hunger Games:

Shut up!!!!!! No one should listen to this narrow minded lady!!!!!!! She hasn’t even read the book!!!!!! Don’t you EVER call the Hunger Games garbage. You complain about gore in the Hunger Games, but the Bible has more gore. Talk to me when you’ve read the book, okay, honey? Thank you.

P.S. I am Christian and I’m a 13 year old boy.

This makes me quite sad but it has nothing to do with his calling me a narrow minded lady, that I consider a compliment.

Matthew 7:14 (ESV) For the gate is narrow and  the way is hard that leads to life, and  those who find it are few.

Luke 13:24-27 (ESV)
24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
25 When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us,’ then he will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’
26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’
27 But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of evil!’

It makes me sad because:

If I was this boy’s moma I would be quite sad to see some of the fruit I was producing.

I would be sad if this was a child I taught in school.

I would be sad if this was a child I taught in church.

I would be sad if this was a child my children interacted with.

It makes me sad that this child doesn’t have any clue about how to glorify the Lord or even seem to desire to glorify the Lord.

But most of all I am sad that this child thinks he is a Christian and obviously has no idea what that even means.

Please pray for Joseph R. and those who are influencing him. I pray some true believer will be available to teach Joseph the Bible and that the Lord will open his eyes to the truth.

  1. Unless you actually know who it is, who is to say its a 13 year old boy?

Could be anyone. We can’t really trust people today, especially with comments like that.

And he, or she, is most definately not Christian, as the word of God says we are to be.

Where is the fear of God in anything that the commenter has made?

Too satanic to be of God. If we don’t get closer to God, we get closer to satan.

It is a narrow path we are to tread, and with godly fear.

    God bless.

    Dora,

I actually wish it would be a prankster. 🙁 However, the child left his email address and full name. A prankster would have signed anonymous.

Those who walk around, self-deceived, claiming to be a Christian and yet aren’t are much to be pitied.

  2. This makes me sad and it also makes me angry. But God will take this comment that this child meant for evil and make it good and God will receive all of the glory that He deserves. SDG!

  3. This adolescent is like so many, he defends his ‘god’, the god of entertainment. America has multiple gods; sex is a ‘god’, entertainment and music are gods, the continual pursuit of material possessions, etc; don’t forget the greatest ‘god’ America has…he can be seen every time most look in the mirror.

It is sad this young person defends this type of entertainment, but that is what an unregenerate heart will do. He probably was led by some manipulative man-made plan that took him through step[s] on how to be saved but no one bothered to disciple him and teach him in depth the doctrine of soteriology, of repentance, of sanctification, of grace, of the depravity of man or what I think is extremely essential…the attributes of God. We just wave a magic wand and presto!! Instant Christians all over the landscape of America! This surely is heartbreaking. Imagine the wrath that awaits all these phony pastors/evangelists who have deceived the masses…

    LYN,

It seems from a follow up comment he left that he has absolutely no understanding of Christianity.

“my idea of an ideal Christian is someone who goes to Church everyday”

Those who have allowed him to develop such a poor understanding of Christianity will have to give an answer for their teaching. Sadly, I think there are even more youth in the average church that feel the same way.

Thank goodness my children are learning the true Biblical gospel from a multitude of sources – church, school, home, friends, etc.

I pray the Lord will open Joseph’s eyes to the true, real salvation and provide strong sound Christians to walk with him. We as Christians cannot just assume those we meet in the church understand what the gospel and salvation really is.
