No Condemnation – Spurgeon

We are today accepted in the Beloved, absolved from sin, acquitted at the bar of God.  …

We are now-even now pardoned; even now are our sins put away; even now we stand in the sight of God accepted, as though we had never been guilty. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.” There is not a sin in the Book of God, even now, against one of His people. Who dareth to lay anything to their charge? There is neither speck, nor spot, nor wrinkle, nor any such thing remaining upon any one believer in the matter of justification in the sight of the Judge of all the earth.

The Sins of Others

“The sins of others leave some kind of stain upon the conscience. I question whether you can read a newspaper and scan the story of a murder or a robbery, or survey with more distant glance in any book of history the sin of your fellow men, without being in a degree injured therewith.”

Spurgeon’s Prayer for a Renewed Mind and Thoughts

“Lord, give me a new understanding;

wash my mind with the clean water of the Spirit;

come and dwell in my judgment,

my memory,

my thought;

and then give me the new strength of thy Spirit,

and then will I love thee with all my new heart,

with all my new life,

with all my renewed mind,

and with all my spiritual strength,

from this time forth,

even for evermore.”

Spurgeon on Public Schools

Can geography teach them the way to Heaven,

or arithmetic remove their countless sins?

The more of secular knowledge our juveniles acquire,

the more will they need to be taught in the fear of the Lord.

To leave our youthful population in the hands of secular teachers,

will be to sell them to the Ishmaelites.

Send me what thou wilt …

Can you say this with Spurgeon?

“Send me what thou wilt, my God,

so long as it comes from thee;

never came there an ill portion from thy table to any of thy children.”

“Say not my soul, ‘From whence can God relieve my care?’

Remember that Omnipotence has servants everywhere.

His method is sublime, his heart profoundly kind,

God never is before his time, and never is behind.”
